Interesting 3d Shape.
is there any Concept behind the shape?
will this be a 3d object at the end or a graphical element used in a design layout?
does it have any connection to arabesque patterns?
No concept, just manipulating a shape in order to achieve another interesting one. At some point, I can say it meets with arabesque in the way it was constructed but never in the way to be used/implemented. I can never imagine it to be used in an Oriental environment.
